20th Anniversary Celebration — 15th May 2026

This date marked a milestone for the centre: the 20th anniversary of this building being established as the venue for St Mary's Adult Education.
For the occasion, decoration was a must.
This also included a number of art and crafts pieces lent by our learners for display. Ranging from paintings to mosaic and more. These added such a unique personal touch
On the day, due to fine weather, the main event was held outside in the yard. This also allowed for plenty more space to accommodate the large turnout.
Board chair Helen Flanagan gave a brief speech on the history of the building, detailing how it had played a role in education from its founding as a school and later the origins of adult education.
Then introduced the guest speaker, Mayor of Limerick John Moran.
Following the mayor's speech, a performance was given by the choir.
Kept under wraps, all the better to build anticipation, was the centrepiece of the event. A scale model of the building created by a mixture of board members and learners working with tutor and artist James Ryan. The mayor along with the group then unveiled it.
As every well attended event will need its refreshments, this was in great supply with catering provided by Kings Island Family & Community Resource Centre (formerly LICP).
This was a great success and we're all very eager for another 20 years to come!
Our special thanks go to the LCETB (Limerick & Clare Education & Training Board), Limerick City & County Council and all who have helped and supported us over the years.
